Spring has sprung, almost…
It’s always nice to have some location around the corner to find likewise minded people. This coming weekend, April 6-8, I’ve been invited to a place called Salon Goldschlag to speak about and show a bit of my work on Sunday. In advance a musician from India, Madhav Agarwal, who is currently on tour through Europe, presenting his new album, will play a concert on Friday, April 6. Madhav uses traditional Indian instruments to make new sounds inspired by Indian classical/ sufi/ folk music and the avant garde. I certainly wouldn’t want to miss that… have a listen to his new album.
Saturday, Sunday will basically be open for experimentation. Feel free to come over with your own instrument! The weekend will be closed off by a little presentation of my own work. I will talk about my personal approach to music and improvisation through the digital as well as the visual (whoever has visited this website before will know that I am a painter by origin). I will discuss the progress and plans for my current project VideOSC as well as I would like to demonstrate my live set-up, possibly involving the audience respectively their smartphones as well. And, last but not least, it will be about the relationship between the visual and the acoustic and especially what lies in-between.
Hopefully see you!
