I’ve been invited to this year’s edition of RARA Festival, a festival for freely improvised music and art, happening every year in Palazzolo Acreide, Sicily. Together my friend and fellow musician Michael Fischer I took the occasion to explore this wonderful island and its rich cultural heritage for about a week. We started off at Artisti Associati MATT’Officina in Modica, a picturesque baroque town near Ragusa.

Palazzolo Acreide

A small town, up on a hill, but not a small town like any other. Like other towns in the area it has been destroyed during an earthquake in the end of the 17th century and was rebuilt in mere baroque style.

A totally new experience to play open air in a park under palm trees.
